My happy blue

Artwork by my daughter Chyne

Life can be difficult at times. One moment feeling good about the day and its many blessings, and accomplishments. Other times feeling down, soaking in imperfection.

I wanted to be transparent about how I was feeling.

Grateful to write but feeling rather blue.

My week was a headache trying to accomplish my goals, trying to be perfect in a imperfect situation. I need to take a step back and do what’s important to the best of my ability and let other things go.

I’m human right? You knew that.

Here are a few things I say to myself daily to stay focused.

Everyday is a new day to start at the beginning. Everyday is a new day to focus on my goals. Everyday is new day to push forward with a smile. Everyday is a new day to love and honor my family. Everyday is a new day to give inspiration to other people. Everyday is a new day to enjoy the sun, the moon and the rain. Everyday is a new day to smell the flowers and feel the breeze. Everyday is a new day to laugh, sing and dance. Everyday is a new day to meet great people. Everyday is a new day to love me.

I’ve never said “everyday I need to be perfect.” I know there’s no such thing.

Ok I’m saying it, “Im not perfect, all I can do is my best.” That felt good.

I’ve chosen to let a few things go so that I can focus on the bigger task at hand.

To continue to be a light, because in doing so, I receive a bit of that light for myself.

I love to see people smile. I get great joy knowing that what I write can capture someone’s heart or turn around their day. It does it for me.

I will never stop being an inspiration to people even in my moments of imperfection.

I dont need to be perfect. I just need to continue to be a decent human being.

POEM

I live to write

I write to live

I’m an imperfect creature

with pencil and paper as my feature

Erasing my blue face

With words of happy thoughts, wisdom and grace!

Love, Light & Energy
